I got a rock...

It's that time of year bloggie friends.... time to set your DVRs or if you are lucky, get out your personal copy of It's the Great Pumkin Charlie Brown on DVD and start watching it...

Halloween - one of my very favorite times of year!

Coincedently - I ALWAYS look for any excuse to dress up and vote in favor of dressing up at work any time there is democracy in action...

Ask Copper what he's going to be for Halloween and his answer is.... "A Grownup" I think he's really dressed as a Party Pooper!

This year I'm stepping out of the mainstream and letting my inner geek out of the closet... I'm going to be Hermione from Harry Potter... The only things I can think of more geeky than this are Princess Leia, or Frodo... (if you know of others please share and make me feel cooler!)

My costume is gonna be truly legen...... (wait for it)...... dary! I certainly don't believe in buying premade costumes (see this post from last Halloween for that soap box).

I actually did buy premade for my son this year... for the life of me - if I could have sewn a cool muscle chest batman myself I would have! What a piece of flimsy crap!

My costume consists of items from my own closet, items from goodwill, a homemade from scratch house robe with lined hood, a handmade and decorated magic want and two small store bought costume accessories.

Stay tuned for photos, friends!

As promised - Velma

This is me - as Velma on Halloween. It was a fun day. One co-worker was Waldo, one was the Pope, one was a papparazzo (yes - he took the picture). My boss was a clown and we had one teller (a woman in her 60s) who dressed as a rapper another of our older tellers was a tourist and a younger teller was Snow White and one who was a witch. Oh, and our branch manager was a a vampire. On the wall next to me is our halloween 'pumpkin' decorating contest. We decorated foam cut outs that were shaped like pumpkins... We let our customers vote all week long and mine ended up winning. Here's a picture of it:

It was fun to make! Watching the tater-tot enjoy the Great Pumpkin this fall inspired it too.

So this post doesn't have much too it... I've hit my first dry spell... if you are just dying for something new from me... go back and read the tons of posts I made last week... by next week I fully expect to be out of this funk...

It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown!

We love that show here in our house. We have it on Video and DVD. Every year they show it on tv (I think ABC owns the rights now) but they always edit it for time and cut out the great part with snoopy.

Tater-tot watched it 3 times in a row on Monday, once on Tuesday... we skipped Wednesday but I'm sure we'll watch it again tonight!

He calls pathetic Charlie Brown in his ghost costume with all the eye holes in the wrong places "the polka-dotted ghost" and thinks the repetitive "I got a rock" statement is just funny...

He doesn't get the eternal underdog, loser appeal of Charlie Brown... him laughing at the polka-dotted ghost makes me laugh at it... more than I have since I was a kid.

That makes me even more excited to show him the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving and Christmas shows this year.

Tomorrow we'll be going to the 'boofest' on the town square of the town I work in... Copper's off duty and I doubt Tater-tot will understand why daddy's not wearing HIS police officer "costume."

We keep telling him that if its what you really do for a living its a uniform, not a costume...

I, will of course, be Velma from Scooby Doo. (Jinkies). I'll be sure to enter the wide world of photo uploads next week.
